  Introduction  
  This qualification is designed for middle managers who want to develop their management skills and who aspire to senior management. Based on the National Occupational Standards for Management and Leadership, the Diploma in Management is accredited at Level 5 on the National Qualifications Framework in England, Wales and N Ireland, and is positioned at Level 9 on the Scottish Qualifications Framework.

  To achieve the Diploma in Management, you will need to successfully complete 5 core units and 3 optional units.

Entry Requirements
There are no specific entry requirements for this qualification. However, candidates are likely either to hold a Certificate in Management and/or have several years experience at supervisory or first line management level. If you are in any doubt about whether this is the right qualification for you, please contact your local Centre.
 
Progression Route
Upon successful completion of the Diploma in Management, a number of progression options become available:
Enhance your professional status by becoming a Member (MCMI) of the Institute
Start working towards Chartered Manager status
Progress onto the next level of Institute qualification, the Executive Diploma in Management who's
  rating with the Open University means that most UK universities give you credit towards relevant degrees, masters, MBA or postgraduate programmes.
