  Introduction  
  The CAT qualification is designed for management accountants, and awarded by the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA).You will also be eligible for automatic transfer to the ACCA Professional Scheme qualification, and entitled to exemption from Part 1 of the examinations.  
  With this qualification and relevant working experience, graduates will be able to use the CAT designation after their name, and be recognised to offer competent management accounting support to both private and public sector businesses.  
     
  Designed For  
  Individuals without an accounting background, who wish to pursue a professional career in the world of management accounting and finance. These people can progressively acquire the key competencies required before advancing to higher level of accounting.

  Examinations  
  Examinations are held twice a year - one in June and one in December. There are altogether nine examinations, split into three levels to attain the CAT qualification. Candidates can take a minimum of 1 paper and a maximum of 4 in a single examination session in the order specified, except for optional papers C3-C6 which may be taken in any order.  
     
  Exemptions  
  If you have no qualifications, you will be expected to complete all three levels of the CAT examinations. Holders of certain qualifications such as LCCI, ITE, AAT, etc may receive exemptions from some of the papers. Applicants are to confirm with ACCA their exemptions.  
     
  All exemptions for overseas qualifications will be assessed by ACCA (U.K.) and you will be notified by post.  
  An exemption fee of £25.00 is charged for each Level C paper.
