  Introduction  
 

This work-based learning programme has been designed to meet the needs of teachers and others with a professional interest in education who wish to extend their knowledge of managing educational institutions/schools at an advanced level.

Aims & Learning Outcomes

 
 
Broad understanding of ethical issues and international perspectives;
Develop educational institute management skills;
Trained for market research and development;
Critically reflect on the role of research in education and on their role as researchers;
Trained for planning, implementation and evaluation to investigate a practice-based enquiry, with a view to improve and develop polices & procedures;

  The qualification consists of Ten mandatory units:

Unit 02     Managing Strategy & the Implementation of Change
Unit 03     Counselling & Guidance in Education
Unit 04     Managing the Curriculum, Resources & Quality
Unit 05     International Perspectives on Professional Practice in Education
Unit 06     Learning & Teaching in Higher Education
Unit 07     People, Organisation & Structures in Careers Education & Guidance
Unit 08     Leading & Managing People in Education
Unit 09     Research Methodology Techniques in Education
Unit 10     Dissertation
 
     
  Entry Requirements  
  Applications are invited from individuals who have a degree in Education or a degree in which Education is a significant component; For students where English is not their first language, there is a Cambridge Level 6.5 (IELTS) requirement from the University.
  Applicants not meeting the normal entry requirements may be required to take a qualifying assignment and/or present a portfolio of documentary evidence of intellectual and professional development resulting from prior experiential learning
